Library Place, a Residence for Active, Independent Adults in Downtown Ithaca, Announces Construction will Resume Following COVID-19 Related Delays
Library Place is back in action to create a walkable apartment option for adults seeking autonomous living, enhanced with personal services, in the heart of downtown Ithaca, NY.
Frost Travis, partner in Travis-Hyde Properties, and Elizabeth Classen Ambrose, principal owner of Bridges Cornell Heights, announce today that construction is back on track for their 66-apartment project that aims to revitalize the site of the former Tompkins County public library.
“We are, finally, next in line to resume constructing this much desired city living option for active adults,” says Frost Travis. “The good news is that the unavoidable delays due to the COVID-19 construction pause allowed us to make slight redesigns in the ground floor amenity spaces to accommodate exciting increases in the services available for residents.”
Construction resumed on July 29th and is anticipated to be complete Fall of 2022. There has been strong interest in Library Place from adults who wish to downsize but also to reimagine their lifestyle. The waiting list is evidence of the uniqueness of this project among the many retirement options in Ithaca.
